Naver Cloud, Samsung SDS, Elice selected for South Korea's $1.4 bln GPU project

( June 8, 2026, 07:49 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Naver Cloud, Samsung SDS and Elice have been selected to participate in South Korea’s 2.08 trillion won ($1.4 billion today) government-backed project to secure and operate advanced artificial intelligence computing infrastructure. The Ministry of Science and ICT said Monday the companies will procure and deploy a total of 9,704 GPUs, including 2,016 next-generation Vera Rubin chips and 7,688 B300 units, to support the government’s “AI Highway” initiative and broader push to become a global AI leader. The ministry said the planned deployment would support foundation-model development, national AI projects and AI research across industry and academia. B300-based services are expected to begin rolling out later this year, with Vera Rubin services scheduled to launch sequentially in the first half of 2027.Statement is attached (in Korean)....
