Service exports increased 15 percent to 985 billion yuan, while imports fell 0.8 percent to 1.5 trillion yuan, narrowing the trade deficit by 139.7 billion yuan. Knowledge-intensive services accounted for 44.4 percent of total service trade, with exports of personal cultural and entertainment services and intellectual property royalties posting the fastest growth. Travel-service exports rose 30.4 percent, the strongest increase among the top five export categories, while transport-service imports climbed 24.9 percent, the fastest growth among major import sectors.
