China's service exports rise 15% in first four months of 2026

( June 8, 2026, 03:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s service trade expanded in the first four months of 2026, with total imports and exports reaching 2.49 trillion yuan ($367 billion), up 4.9 percent from a year earlier, according to a statement issued Friday by China’s Ministry of Commerce. Service exports increased 15 percent to 985 billion yuan, while imports fell 0.8 percent to 1.5 trillion yuan, narrowing the trade deficit by 139.7 billion yuan. Knowledge-intensive services accounted for 44.4 percent of total service trade, with exports of personal cultural and entertainment services and intellectual property royalties posting the fastest growth. Travel-service exports rose 30.4 percent, the strongest increase among the top five export categories, while transport-service imports climbed 24.9 percent, the fastest growth among major import sectors. Statement follows (in Chinese)....
