South Korea to raise antitrust whistleblower rewards, eyes lodging sector
( June 4, 2026, 08:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea will raise whistleblower rewards for reports of unfair trade practices to as much as 10 percent of imposed surcharges from June, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol said Thursday at a meeting of the Special Ministerial Task Force on Cost-of-Living Stabilization. Koo also outlined measures to crack down on price gouging in the accommodation sector, including continued joint inspections into suspected price collusion, tax evasion and unilateral booking cancellations.
