( June 2, 2026, 12:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Office of the US Trade Representative announced that Brazil has engaged in unfair trade practices, including digital trade and illegal deforestation, that restricts or burdens US commerce under Section 301. USTR proposed a 25 percent tariff on all Brazilian goods with exemptions on informational materials, donations, accompanied baggage, goods subject to Section 232 tariffs, other materials the US can't produce sufficiently and products that would cause economy-wide disruptions if subject to tariffs.
