( June 1, 2026, 09:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China's internet regulator will target AI-generated false information about businesses, online smear campaigns against companies and entrepreneurs, and violations of entrepreneurs' personal rights as part of a two-month nationwide cleanup campaign. In a statement on Friday, the Cyberspace Administration of China said the campaign, aimed at improving the online business environment, will require platforms to step up monitoring and removal of enterprise-related infringing content while strengthening oversight of AI-generated content, online review activities, user accounts and multi-channel networks. The regulator also urged platform operators to increase staffing and technical resources, improve complaint channels and report major cross-regional infringement cases to central cyberspace authorities for further action.Statement follow (in Chinese). ...
