Huawei, Alibaba AI chips clear China security assessment

( May 26, 2026, 08:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: AI processors from Huawei HiSilicon, Alibaba T-Head, Biren Technology, Hygon Information Technology, Iluvatar CoreX, MetaX Integrated Circuits and Moore Threads were among the products that passed China's latest security and reliability assessment, according to two state-backed evaluation centers. The review, conducted by the China Information Technology Security Evaluation Center and the National Secrecy Science and Technology Evaluation Center, marks the first time AI training and inference chips have been included in the assessment system. The program evaluates products and their developers on criteria including core technologies, security safeguards and long-term sustainability.
