House of Tickets fined in Netherlands for driving up prices through bidding bot

( May 28, 2026, 07:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: House of Tickets has been fined €270,000 in The Netherlands for misleading customers on its auction website Ticketveiling.nl through the use of automatic bids, the Autoriteit Consument & Markt said on Thursday. Customers were led to believe they were bidding against other humans, when in reality a bot was driving up ticket prices under fake names. During the second half of 2024, this happened in more than 70,000 auctions. House of Tickets said that it wouldn't appeal the ACM’s decision.Statement follows, decision attached (both in Dutch)....
