US CIT rejects Trump request for Section 122 tariff stay
( May 20, 2026, 15:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: US Court of International Trade Chief Judge Mark Barnett and judges Claire Kelly and Timothy Stanceu denied the Trump administration's request for a stay after a ruling from the court that granted a permanent injunction and relief to Washington state and two small businesses who won a case challenging the federal government's imposition of a 10 percent tariff under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974. The order is a setback for the administration, as the US Department of Justice only has a temporary stay at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, which is considering a full stay in the appeals process.See attached....
