Meta, TikTok, YouTube, X, Snap challenged by UK privacy regulator over age assurance
( May 21, 2026, 10:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: TikTok, YouTube, X and Snapchat — as well as Meta-owned Facebook and Instagram — have all failed to introduce appropriate age-assurance measures to keep underage children off their services, the UK privacy regulator said on Thursday. The Information Commissioner’s Office said that while some of the platforms contacted are taking or considering additional steps, it still lacks confidence that appropriate measures are being put in place.
