Austrian watchdog starts fuel price tracker
( May 20, 2026, 09:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Austria’s competition authority has introduced a new tool to make it easier and more transparent to identify current price trends at Austrian gas stations. Regular monitoring of fuel prices will help to provide a better understanding of market changes, the watchdog said. The tracker will be monitoring price differences based on the size of the gas station operators and the frequency of price changes. It will be using microdata from regulatory body E-Control’s fuel price database, supplemented by information from the European Commission’s weekly oil bulletin.Statement follows (in German)....
