Japan's Sheer music school faces corrective action over freelancer treatment

( May 19, 2026, 09:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese music school operator Sheer received a corrective recommendation Tuesday for violating Japan’s freelance worker protection law. The Japan Fair Trade Commission and the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency found that the Tokyo-based company had required 1,674 freelance piano instructors to provide trial lessons free of charge. Sheer was ordered to pay the unpaid lesson fees and adopt measures to prevent a recurrence.The statement is attached (in Japanese)....
