Australia's Engage, TasPorts ordered to mediate before 2027 antitrust trial

By Sean Maguire ( May 15, 2026, 06:24 GMT | Insight) -- Engage Marine and Tasmanian Ports are set to go to trial in February in a landmark misuse-of-market-power case, unless both parties can resolve the dispute through mediation. Federal Court of Australia Judge Michael O’Bryan on Friday ordered the mediation to begin in December after setting out a tight timetable for both parties to agree to the scope of expert evidence presented at a possible trial that could take three or four weeks. Engage Marine and Tasmanian Ports have been ordered to undertake mediation in December before proceeding to a February 2027 trial in a landmark misuse-of-market-power dispute....
