Zoetis-Neogen Genomics Business deal sparks regulatory review in Australia

( May 13, 2026, 06:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A proposal by Zoetis Holdings, a wholly owned subsidiary of Zoetis Inc., to acquire the global animal genomic testing business, Neogen Genomics, from Neogen Corporation has triggered a regulatory review in Australia. In a statement on Wednesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said both Zoetis and Neogen Corporation are US-based companies that supply genomic testing services for livestock globally, including in Australia. The regulator is seeking views on the deal that will involve Zoetis acquiring all of the shares in the companies within the Neogen Corporation group that supplies genomic testing services globally, as well as certain non-Australian assets of Neogen Genomics.Statement follows.
