Energy industry urges EU to delay methane rules amid supply concerns

( May 13, 2026, 15:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Energy companies and industry groups including BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies and Eurogas have urged EU energy ministers to amend and delay the EU Methane Regulation, warning it could threaten energy security, raise prices and disrupt imports from key suppliers such as the US, Qatar and Norway.
