Animal health company Zoetis seeks to acquire Neogen, New Zealand regulator says

( May 13, 2026, 05:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Global animal health company Zoetis is seeking to acquire Neogen Corporation, New Zealand’s competition regulator said. In a statement on Wednesday, New Zealand’s Commerce Commission said it received a clearance application from Zoetis to acquire the global animal genomic testing business of Neogen. In a statement of preliminary issues, the regulator said in New Zealand, Zoetis and Neogen provide genetic testing services for livestock to farmers. The regulator said it will assess the degree of constraint that Zoetis and Neogen impose upon one another. The regulator is seeking views on the deal until May 27 and is likely to announce its decision on July 9. Statement follows.
