Keyera closes buy of Plains Canadian NGL business despite competition challenge
By Flavia Fortes ( May 12, 2026, 16:36 GMT | Insight) -- Keyera has completed its C$5.3 billion (US $3.86 billion) acquisition of substantially all of Plains’ Canadian natural gas liquids business, closing a deal the company says will expand its integrated NGL network while it prepares to defend the transaction before Canada’s Competition Tribunal. Keyera said it disagrees with the Commissioner of Competition’s assertions that the deal harms competition and intends to respond through the Competition Tribunal process.
