New Zealand regulator releases first state of competition report

The competition watchdog draws on detailed analysis from the past 22 years for future monitoring, finding that while business concentration has eased on average, competitive pressure has weakened in key sectors. The report warns that utilities and financial services are facing the weakest competitive pressures, which could increase costs across the economy.
