EU allows aviation fuel rule exemption, but says airlines must cover slots

The announcements reflect the growing pressure on airlines from fuel supply issues related to the conflict in the Middle East.Airlines have been given an exemption from EU jet fuel buying rules designed to lower emissions if they face shortages of fuel at their destination airport in the bloc, as the European Commission looks to manage the impact on the sector from the conflict in the Middle East....
