ZTE could get $640 million from Samsung for SEP use, German court says

The decision from the Munich Regional Court 1 demonstrates the divergence among national courts on questions of fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory license determinations. The Munich Regional Court 1, a German court which specializes in patent cases, has supported a $640 million license for ZTE in a long-running multi-jurisdictional dispute between the Chinese company and Korean tech manufacturer Samsung over FRAND licenses for SEPs owned by the Shenzhen-based company. The figure is significantly more than the $392 million recently proposed by an English court....
