Australians want safe AI they can trust, minister says

In a Tuesday speech in Sydney, Australia’s Assistant Minister for Science, Technology and the Digital Economy Andrew Charlton discussed the government's AI plan launched last year. He said the government did not implement a single AI regulator because the technology will be embedded in "every single part of our economy." He said the AI Safety Institute was created to help identify emerging risks and those risks would be allocated to existing agencies.
