Paramount-Warner Bros. global deal triggers Australian review

In a statement on Thursday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said Paramount and Warner Bros. signed a merger agreement on Feb. 27. The regulator said under the terms, Paramount will pay $31 (A$43) per share in cash for all outstanding shares of Warner Bros., with the entire deal being valued at $108 billion. The regulator said Paramount operates in Australia through its free-to-air Network 10, alongside its subscription service Paramount+. Warner Bros. has a broad presence across pay TV and streaming in Australia and is also involved in film distribution and local television production through its Australian subsidiaries.
