Barro Group's BQC Quarries deal under Australian regulator's review

( April 30, 2026, 02:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Barro Group’s proposed acquisition of the quarry and concrete operations and certain related assets of the BQC Quarries partnership will be reviewed by the Australian competition watchdog. In a statement on Wednesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said the planned transaction will take place by way of an asset purchase. The regulator added that the assets are currently operated by Colevale Estates, M&T Populin and Twin Rock as the BQC Quarries partnership, with additional entities involved in the sale including BQC Registrations, BQC Sands and Burdekin Concrete. The regulator also noted that Barro operates sand quarries, hard rock quarries and ready-mixed concrete plants across Australia.
