GC Pharma's cartel fine appeal heads to Constitutional Court review in South Korea
By Wooyoung Lee ( April 29, 2026, 07:20 GMT | Insight) -- South Korea's GC Pharmaceutical will get another chance to challenge a Supreme Court ruling that upheld a 2023 vaccine cartel fine, as the country's Constitutional Court takes up the case under its new constitutional complaint system. The court said the company’s petition would be its first test of whether a Supreme Court judgment violated fundamental rights. A three-justice panel referred the complaint to the full bench, which means the case passed the preliminary review and deemed qualified to a review. The Constitutional Court doesn’t rehear the case, but reviews whether the exercise of judicial power infringed fundamental rights.
