Kansas AG office lawyer asks to participate in state case against Nexstar-Tegna

( April 27, 2026, 23:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: John Harris, an attorney with the Kansas attorney general’s office, requested permission from the US District Court for the Eastern District of California on April 24 to participate in the Nexstar-Tegna lawsuit. But on Monday, a clerk posted a correction in the court docket. “The State of Kansas is currently NOT listed as a Plaintiff in this Consolidated Action,” it said. “Once State of Kansas is listed as a plaintiff on an Amended Complaint, then the 181 Pro Hac Vice Application and Proposed Order submitted by State of Kansas for attorney John Harris to appear Pro Hac Vice will be processed.” Statement follows in full.
