US appeal of loss to Anthropic stayed by US Ninth Circuit

( April 28, 2026, 00:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has agreed to stay the US government's appeal of its loss to Anthropic while the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit hears its side of the case, in the AI company's challenge to its designation by the government as a supply chain risk. "In light of those expedited proceedings and the possibility that the resolution of the issues in that case will narrow the issues presented for this Court’s review — if not obviate the need for this Court’s review altogether — the government respectfully requests that the Court hold this appeal in abeyance, pending resolution of the petition for review in the D.C. Circuit," the government told the Ninth Circuit in requesting the stay. The government appealed its loss on the issue in a ruling by a federal judge in the US Northern District of California. See attached documents....
