China protests EU inclusion of its firms in latest Russia sanctions

( April 27, 2026, 04:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s Ministry of Commerce said Saturday it strongly opposed the EU’s decision to include Chinese companies in its 20th round of sanctions against Russia, warning the move undermines bilateral trust and relations. In response to a media query, a spokesperson said that the EU had ignored repeated Chinese objections and applied “long-arm jurisdiction” against Chinese entities without UN Security Council authorization. The spokesperson urged the EU to immediately remove Chinese companies and individuals from the sanctions list and to resolve concerns through dialogue. China said it would take necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its companies, adding that the EU would bear all the consequences.Statement follows (in Chinese). ...
