Former US judges say designation of Anthropic as risk goes against law

( April 22, 2026, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A group of 149 former US judges and other groups told an appeals court that the government misinterpreted the law when it designated Anthropic a “supply chain risk,” and the deference courts afford to the executive branch in national security matters is limited to judgments about facts—not interpretations of the law. They argued that standard tools of interpretation demonstrate that a private company’s contractual dispute with a government agency cannot render that company a “supply chain risk” within the meaning of the law.   See attached file. ...
