Red Bull denied bid for compensation for legal fees for EU antitrust inspection

By Andrew Boyce ( April 22, 2026, 11:09 GMT | Insight) -- Red Bull has lost its court bid for €300,000 in compensation from the European Commission to cover the legal costs of antitrust inspections which started at the company's offices but were continued with remote work in Brussels. The EU's lower tier General Court said companies were only able to claim reimbursement for costs incurred “exclusively” by inspections that were moved to the commission's premises. Energy drink maker Red Bull has lost a court bid to claim €300,000 ($353,000) in compensation for hiring lawyers to assist with antitrust inspections which started at its premises and was followed up with remote work at the European Commission’s offices in Brussels....
