Musk pledges no direct financial benefit in US OpenAI case, drops fraud claims

( April 21, 2026, 14:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Elon Musk has agreed to drop two fraud claims against OpenAI in his fast-approaching trial against the company and Microsoft over OpenAI's for-profit conversion. In a pair of court filings, Musk also answered a concern by US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers that he would use the trial to enrich himself, saying he "will not seek an award for himself, xAI, or any fund that he controls as to his claims set for trial. Plaintiff's preference would be that any award be entered in favor of the OpenAI charity directly, and he irrevocably commits to that remedy if it is available."See attached documents....
