Musk, OpenAI, Microsoft agree to bifurcate looming US trial on for-profit conversion

( April 16, 2026, 18:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Elon Musk, OpenAI, Microsoft and other parties have agreed to the structure of a two-phase trial due to begin April 27 that will be bifurcated between a liability phase and a remedy phase in which the jury would render an advisory opinion on remedies to US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers. "The parties met and conferred and have no objection to the Court’s proposal to bifurcate the liability phase of the trial from the remedies phase. The parties further agree that the jury empaneled for the liability phase should be empaneled on an advisory basis for all counts," Musk and the defendants said in a joint court filing.See attached document....
