( April 16, 2026, 03:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Future of Music Coalition said in a statement on X saying that pursuant to a jury verdict finding Live Nation to be a monopolist in live entertainment, it ought to be broken up from its wholly owned subsidiary Ticketmaster, among other structural separations. "Now it's time for the fun part: Live Nation/Ticketmaster must be broken up. We need structural separation between the company's ticketing, concert promotion, artist management and venue operation lines of business. We can't afford to waste any more time on weak behavioral remedies that require artists, venues, and promoters to monitor for signs of anticompetitive behavior," the organization said in its statement.Statement follows below.
