Uber must face US FTC, state ROSCA claims, judge rules

( April 10, 2026, 21:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Uber must face claims brought by the US Federal Trade Commission and state plaintiffs over its design, which allegedly makes it difficult for consumers to cancel their "Uber One" subscriptions, a federal judge ruled. District Judge Jon S. Tigar said the complaint plausibly alleges that Uber charges an additional fee to those cancelling within 48 hours of a new billing period and otherwise shows that Uber’s cancellation policy representation is inaccurate and that reasonable consumers would assume that projected savings account for the subscription cost. Tigar did dismiss a claim based on Uber’s “0 delivery fee” representation, saying that even if a reasonable consumer may not know which orders will qualify for the deal, no reasonable consumer would assume that all orders do so.See attached file. ...
