Judge in Nexstar case ponders US FCC analysis of Tegna merger

The US Federal Communications Commission signed off on the deal, arguing that the combination advances the agency’s policy goals of competition, localism and diversity. Eight states, however, have taken the matter to California federal court, where they have told a federal judge that the deal will harm competition and consumers.
