Watchdogs issued €1.15bn in fines in 2025, European Data Protection Board report says

( April 9, 2026, 14:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: National data protection watchdogs issued a total of €1.15 billion in fines in 2025, the European Data Protection Board said in its annual report, published on Thursday. The European umbrella authority registered 414 cross-border cases and saw 1,299 procedures related to the One-Stop-Shop mechanism, 572 of which led to final decisions. The report also touched on the Digital Omnibus, new guidelines added to the EU’s data regulation, and the interplay between those and the Digital Services Act.Statement follows, report attached....
