China issues regulations on industrial, supply chain security with countermeasures

( April 8, 2026, 02:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Chinese Premier Li Qiang has signed a State Council decree issuing regulations on industrial and supply chain security, the government said Tuesday, establishing a centralized coordination mechanism across ministries and local governments and introducing risk monitoring, early-warning and emergency response systems. The 18-article regulation, effective immediately, requires authorities to maintain dynamic lists of “critical” sectors, and to support stockpiling and technology development. It also empowers authorities to investigate and counter foreign measures deemed discriminatory, including by restricting trade, investment and data flows, and to sanction entities involved.Regulation follows (in Chinese)....
