( April 2, 2026, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US President Donald Trump modified the Section 232 tariffs on steel, aluminum, and copper. The tariffs will now apply to the full customs value of aluminum, steel, and copper articles regardless of metal content. Trump set the tariff rate at 50 percent for aluminum and steel articles and certain copper articles, while setting the tariff rate at 25 percent for certain copper articles and certain aluminum and steel derivative articles.
