Online platforms face July deadline for updated UK risk assessments

( April 1, 2026, 09:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Online platforms have been asked to prepare their second risk assessments under the UK Online Safety Act, with more than 40 receiving legally binding notices on Wednesday to provide over 70 risk assessments by the July 31 deadline. Regulator Ofcom said platforms covered by the act must update their assessments yearly, identifying risks and mitigation measures, and keep records of them. Later this year, categorized services will have to publish summaries of their illegal harms risk assessments and children’s risk assessments.Statement follows....
