Japan seeks input on IP guidelines to curb unfair practices

( March 31, 2026, 03:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese regulators on Monday launched a public consultation on draft guidelines covering intellectual property, technical expertise and data, aimed at preventing unfair treatment of smaller businesses by larger companies. The Japan Fair Trade Commission, the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency and the Japan Patent Office said they are seeking third-party input on the draft guidelines, which are designed to curb the unfair appropriation of smaller firms’ intellectual property, practical expertise and data.
