Telenor plan to buy GlobalConnect triggers concerns at Norwegian watchdog

( March 27, 2026, 11:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Telenor’s planned acquisition of GlobalConnect could weaken competition in the broadband service market, the Norwegian competition authority has said. The regulator has sent a statement of objections to the companies, saying that their proposed remedies seemed insufficient to protect consumers from the negative effects of the deal. Telenor and GlobalConnect have 15 working days to respond to the competition authority, which will then have 15 working days to issue a final decision.Press release follows....
