China Mofcom opens probe into alleged US barriers to green product trade

( March 27, 2026, 08:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China has opened a trade barrier investigation into US measures that allegedly hinder trade in green products, the Ministry of Commerce said on Friday. The ministry cited preliminary evidence that US actions — including restrictions on Chinese exports of green products, delays to new energy project deployment and limits on related technology cooperation — could harm Chinese companies’ interests and potentially breach World Trade Organization rules and bilateral agreements. The investigation will run for up to six months, extendable by three months in special cases, with interested parties invited to submit comments within 20 days of publication.Statement follows (in Chinese)....
