China, US trade chiefs hold talks on cooperation, dialogue at WTO meeting

( March 27, 2026, 04:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer on Thursday on the sidelines of the World Trade Organization’s 14th Ministerial Conference in Yaoundé, Cameroon, China’s Commerce Ministry said in a statement on Friday. At the meeting, Wang said China and the United States should strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, avoid cutthroat competition, and maintain close communication. Beijing also raised concerns over US Section 301 probes citing “overcapacity” and forced labor issues. Greer said the two sides had maintained constructive consultations over the past year and that Washington is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation to support stable bilateral trade ties.Statement follows (in Chinese)....
