China's Didi, Meituan join SAMR fair-competition talks on supporting expansion abroad

( March 27, 2026, 03:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ride-hailing company Didi, food-delivery platform Meituan, automakers BYD and Chery Automobile, and battery maker CATL were among companies that met with China’s State Administration for Market Regulation on Thursday for a fair-competition symposium, as the regulator signaled plans to  curb “involution-style” competition while supporting companies expanding abroad. Vice minister Meng Yang said the regulator would step up antitrust enforcement, strengthen compliance guidance and deepen competition-related opening-up, while backing companies’ international growth and high-quality development.Statement follows (in Chinese)....
