US judge blocks blacklisting of Anthropic by US government

( March 26, 2026, 23:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US District Judge Rita Lin has granted Anthropic's request for a preliminary injunction blocking the Trump Administration from declaring the artificial intelligence a supply-chain risk. She enjoined President Donald Trump's Feb. 27 directive ordering all federal agencies to cease use of Anthropic’s technology, and all other agency actions taken in response. She also enjoined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth from enforcing his directive designating Anthropic a "supply-chain risk" to national security and directing that no contractor or supplier doing business with the US military conduct commercial activity with Anthropic, and his March 3 letter notifying Anthropic of the supply chain designation.
