EU lawmakers back US trade deal, but much uncertainty still lies ahead

Negotiations with the 27 EU member states will now start, but it remains to be seen how much certainty is possible. It's clear that despite the EU’s decoupling efforts, it still very much relies on the US. The European Parliament’s qualified “yes” to the EU-US trade deal on Thursday — seven months after the two trade partners agreed it — might be a relief for those fearing more trans-Atlantic trade disturbances, but long-term certainty remains in short supply....
