China's Pinduoduo, Trip.com among platforms at Shanghai antitrust compliance briefing

( March 26, 2026, 06:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Shanghai Administration for Market Regulation recently organized an antitrust compliance briefing for more than 40 major platform companies, including Pinduoduo, Trip.com, Meituan and ByteDance’s e-commerce arm, to strengthen compliance awareness and curb “involution-style” competition, according to a statement released Thursday. The session focused on explaining the Antimonopoly Compliance Guidelines for Internet Platforms, highlighting risks such as algorithmic collusion, “choose one of two” exclusivity practices and discriminatory treatment. Officials also outlined eight common risk scenarios spanning pricing, data use, traffic allocation and platform rules. The regulator urged companies to integrate antitrust compliance into daily operations by strengthening internal review mechanisms, screening algorithms and improving staff training, and said it would continue routine supervision and guidance.Statement follows (in Chinese)....
