New Zealand regulator may allow banks to jointly negotiate cash-in-transit services

( March 26, 2026, 06:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The New Zealand antitrust regulator is proposing to authorize the country’s banks to negotiate a collective agreement over cash-in-transit services with Evergreen International NZ, trading as Armourguard, the watchdog said. In a statement on Thursday, the New Zealand Commerce Commission said its position has developed since the regulator declined interim authorization in November 2025. The watchdog added that while it had previously warned that approval could create uncertainty and delay investment by Armourguard, further assessment and new evidence have led the regulator to conclude those risks are unlikely. The regulator is seeking feedback on its draft determination issued on Thursday and will announce its decision on May 15.Statement follows. Draft determination is attached....
