Fujitsu Frontech faces corrective action over Japan Subcontract Act breaches

( March 24, 2026, 07:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Fujitsu Frontech, a subsidiary of information and communications company Fujitsu, received a corrective order on Tuesday for breaching Japan’s Subcontract Act. The Japan Fair Trade Commission found that the Tokyo-based company required 48 subcontractors involved in manufacturing components for payment terminals to store 2,577 metal molds and other equipment without paying storage fees from around May 2024, despite the items being rarely used. The Small and Medium Enterprise Agency identified the conduct and requested the JFTC last month to take action. The JFTC told Fujitsu Frontech to promptly pay the storage fees and implement measures to prevent a recurrence.The statement is attached (in Japanese). ...
