Malaysia consults on ANA–Singapore Airlines JV antitrust exemption

( March 18, 2026, 06:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Malaysia’s Civil Aviation Authority is consulting until April 1 on an application by All Nippon Airways and Singapore Airlines for an exemption from national competition rules covering a proposed joint venture signed in April 2025. The carriers plan to coordinate fares, sales, marketing and scheduling across routes linking Japan, Singapore, Australia, India, Indonesia and Malaysia, arguing the tie-up would improve efficiency and connectivity while offering more competitive fares. They said limited overlap in Malaysian services means the arrangement is unlikely to materially harm competition.Statement follows....
