Brau Union seals new agreement to address Austrian antitrust concerns

( March 20, 2026, 13:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Brau Union has concluded new partnership contracts with selected drinks distributors to address antitrust concerns raised by the Austrian Competition Authority, known as the BWB. In 2024, the authority asked the national cartel court to fine the brewer and its parent Heineken for market and customer sharing, information exchange with rivals and purchasing obligations. The new agreement replaces all oral and written terms linked to the historic sales agreement. The new contractual conditions are an important step toward addressing the allegations raised by the authority, the BWB said. The request for a fine remains in place.Statement follows (in German). ...
