Data controllers across EU to be contacted for GDPR transparency exercise

( March 19, 2026, 11:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: Data controllers in companies and other organizations across Europe will be contacted during the first half of this year by their respective national data watchdogs as part of a drive to gather information about compliance with transparency requirements of the bloc's data privacy law, the body which ensures EU data rules are applied uniformly across the EU has said. In a statement, the European Data Protection Board, or EDPB, said the 25 European Data Protection Authorities involved in the GDPR exercise would then share their findings in the second half of the year and pull them together in a single report.Statement follows....
